I know, it seems a bit too early for award ceremonies, but don’t worry, these are just the nominations. The ceremony itself is a ways off. Now this is NOT the full list, but these are the categories that most people care about. IRON MAN 2 PICS…

Jon Favreau, the man behind IRON MAN and IRON MAN 2, himself tweeted this morning with a link to the first official pictures of Scarlett Johansson as BLACK WIDOW in next summer’s, sure to make a zillion dollars, IRON MAN 2. Favreau has been fairly forthcoming on Twitter throughout the shoot, which wraps principal photography this week. Entertainment Weekly online has the official photos and a shot of their cover page featuring Robert Downey Jr., Scarlett Johansson, and Mickey Rourke as WHIPLASH. Head on over to EW.COM to catch a glimpse of the glossys.
WHERE IN THE WORLD IS MY WIFE – SENEGAL…

HERE IT IS FOLKS. The moment you didn’t know you were waiting for. After some speed bumps, and some side tracking on my part, the first episode of WHERE IN THE WORLD IS MY WIFE? (WITWIMW) is finished and uploaded awaiting your hate and discontent…. NO, I mean positive feedback and constructive criticism. First off, the narrator I had to use really was useless (for those of you who do NOT know my voice, that IS me narrating – you may get the lame joke now). Hopefully he will get his shit together for the next episode. So, head on over to the provided link and don’t forget to leave your comments below after you’ve wasted two minutes of your life. Enjoy.
EPISODE 1: SENEGAL
COMING SOON…

Isn't that cute, they're Girl Scouts.
HEY everyone, check out a great trailer for a film called WHIP IT. This is a comedy starring Ellen Page (JUNO, X3), Kristen Wiig (SNL), Juliet Lewis (KALIFORNIA, NATURAL BORN KILLERS), and long time actress first time director Drew Barrymore. Yes sir, WHIP IT is Miss Barrymore’s directorial debut. She has produced quite a few films and has finally decided to throw herself into the director’s chair. I read a little bit about this film before the trailer came out and had some doubts. After viewing the trailer, I was quite pleased. Take a gander over at – LATINO REVIEW .
HAPPY BIRTHDAY RANDOM CELEBRITY…

The fates have smiled upon me and given me another great celebrity to wish a happy birthday to. I can’t think of anyone better to follow LOST’s Matthew Fox than LOST’s Terry O’Quinn, turning 57 today. Terry’s John Locke is Jack Shepherd’s opposite on LOST. While Jack is a “man of science” O’Quinn’s Locke is a “man of faith”. It would seem that Mr. O’Quinn has an affinity for sci-fi. Before Terry’s character regained the ability to walk on LOST, he had roles on the X-FILES, MILLENIUM, and ROSWELL. Also a little known role on the Disney film the ROCKETEER playing the great Howard Hughes. Stay crazy John Locke.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY RANDOM CELEBRITY…

GOD DAMN this is a big ass island.
Anybody remember PARTY OF FIVE? Neve Cambell was in it, Scott Wolf was in it, and then there was this guy named Matthew Fox. No, not ringing any bells? I never watched the show either, but the wife tells me it was pretty good. MOST of us now know Mr. Fox as Jack Shepherd of LOST, running around on that jacked up island and traveling through time and now he has lost his mind apparently. Matthew Fox on the other hand has a birthday today and he turns 43. OH, how can we forget his live action take on Racer X in the over the top SPEED RACER flick? We’ll forgive you Mr. Fox, Happy Birthday.
COLLECTOR’S CORNER – GREEN with envy…

This is a new topic or column I decided is worthy of gracing the pages of TOSHBLOGGED. I myself am a pretty big collector of action figures and statues based on comic books and films. Of course, YOU may call them TOYS. I will try not to take offense to that obviously untrained view of action figures and allow you, the reader, your opinion on this topic. I’m sure the collector community is used to this type of thing as am I. My wife constantly reminds of this fact. Okay, enough of that. In this column I will talk about some new and exciting collector items either currently for sale or coming soon to a hard to find retailer near you.

As many of you know, the San Diego Comic Con will be underway soon, starting July 23rd to be more accurate, and that means a whole mess of crap will be revealed via every possible media outlet known to this Earth. Now, SDCC used to be simply all about the comic books, once upon a time. It has rapidly evolved into an evil pop culture monster that no one can stop from consuming every geek’s soul. Luckily I can never afford to attend this huge event, so I am safe.
One such item of pop culture is the collectible action figure. Usually they are based off of a popular comic book story arc, such as the best selling HUSH run in the BATMAN titles, written by one my favorites Jeph Loeb with art by illustrious Jim Lee, or the Dream Team as I call them. A huge line of action figures were released based on this HUSH series. They are also usually designed by the main artist of each series they are based upon.

BLACKEST NIGHT collectible figure line.
Premiering this year at SDCC is another action figure line. The GREEN LANTERN: BLACKEST NIGHT series of figures, based on the BLACKEST NIGHT story arc in the GREEN LANTERN books. DC comics and Warner Bros. is either very smart or extremely lucky. The GREEN LANTERN gravy train is really starting to pick up speed, in my opinion. Huge movie news regarding Ryan Reynolds playing the title role of GREEN LANTERN in the big budget movie is out. The GREEN LANTERN: FIRST FLIGHT animated film is soon to be released on blu-ray. Now an anticipated action figure line will be released on the heels of the blu-ray.

In the BLACKEST NIGHT figure line, we see Hal Jordan representing each color of the “emotional spectrum”, red, blue, yellow, orange and of course, his classic green. You can get more details over at MANIA.COM . There is also a great description of the BLACKEST NIGHT story line at WIKIPEDIA . I won’t be getting an exclusive SDCC figure so I’ll have to wait like the rest of us peasants who will not be attending the CON.
Don’t just sit there and read, leave some comments, get involved, tell me to shut the hell up.
Natalie Portman gets down with THOR…

It looks like Natalie Portman is up for another round of comic-cons and other geek escapades as she has just been cast in the live action THOR film. My boy “El Guapo” over at LATINO REVIEW has the full story. Check it out.

“BY THE POWER OF ODIN, NO HOTTIE SHALL ESCAPE MY GRASP!”
CODE: BLU – New Release Tuesday…
Tomorrow is Tuesday and as always, the new releases of blu-rays is upon us. Unfortunately or maybe fortunately, there isn’t much coming out tomorrow. Well, at least nothing I’M too excited for anyway. There could be something out there for you however.

Why are they so mad anyway?
Coming in a three disc box set is season two of the critically acclaimed AMC series MADMEN. I have never seen this show, so I cannot say much about it. I have only heard and read good things about this series and it seems to grab up Golden Globe nods each year, so it can’t be THAT bad now can it? The MADMEN blu-ray does feature a great DTS-HD audio track, which I AM a big fan of. MADMEN: season two will run you about $31.00 over at AMAZON.COM .

"What is so scary about Connecticut?"
While I CAN recommend MADMEN, this next release I will NOT recommend. Don’t get me wrong, I like horror movies, but it seems as of late, the horror genre is becoming recycled. Either that or it’s an American version of some Japanese horror movie involving some creepy ass child. Kids are not creepy, I’m sorry. Tell them to take a time out or something. So, THE HAUNTING IN CONNECTICUT will be on blu-ray tomorrow as well. I told you it was a slow blu-ray release day. The film itself wasn’t reviewed well, nor did it do well at the box office. There is a 7.1 DTS-HD audio track on the blu-ray. You can pick this up for $25.00 at AMAZON as well. Here is a great review from bitchpleeze.com, check it out here – MOVIE REVIEW
HAPPY BIRTHDAY RANDOM CELEBRITIES…

"Get off my plane."
Yes, you read it correctly. There are 2 special birthdays today. These 2 actors are icons and I couldn’t decide on which one to highlight, so I’ll just give the greeting to both. Neither one of these gentlemen need an introduction. One has played such incredible characters as Jack Ryan, Indiana Jones and everyone’s favorite Han Solo. We can’t forget the most kick-ass president ever in AIR FORCE ONE either. Yes sir, the one and only Harrison Ford has reached the age of 67 today.

"Make it so, number one."
Our other birthday greeting goes out to one of the better Captains of the star ship Enterprise. He played Captain Jean Luc Picard for 7 seasons in STAR TREK: THE NEXT GENERATION. He has performed on stage in countless plays, both across the pond and in the US. His most recent work was in a wheel chair as the great Professor Charles Xavier in the 3 X-MEN films and, according to IMDb, has an uncredited role in the WOLVERINE film as well. Happy birthday to the now 69 year old Patrick Stewart.
